Approach

Diagnose before prescribing.

Understand the problem before deciding how aggressively to solve it. The rigor should be consistent. The prescription should not be.

01Proportional intervention

Do not break healthy things in pursuit of transformation.

Some businesses are over-treated. Everything becomes a reorg, a rebrand, a new stack, another initiative. The cost of that is real: attention, capital, momentum, and the parts of the business that were working before someone decided to fix them.

Others are under-treated. A constraint gets labelled “just messaging” or “a little clunky,” and quietly caps the entire growth engine for years.

Common Costs sits between those two extremes. Our job is to know the difference.

02How the work runs

Seven things we do, in order.

01

We enter curious.

No predetermined solution, no methodology waiting for a client to fit it.

02

We establish what is actually happening.

Leadership perspective, customer conversations, commercial data, pipeline, positioning, process, economics.

03

We identify the constraints creating the greatest commercial impact.

Not every problem is worth solving now. Some are worth solving immediately.

04

We distinguish symptoms from underlying problems.

Messaging is often a symptom. So is pipeline. So is churn.

05

We protect what already works.

This part works. Leave it alone. That judgment is part of the product.

06

We prioritize intervention.

Proportional to the cost, sequenced to the business.

07

We work alongside leadership to implement what needs to change.

Not a deck handed over at the door.

Let’s start with the diagnosis.
